Description

Martin Romero, the young Cajun traiteur (healer) visits Isle de Jean Charles, a remote Biloxi-Chitimacha Indian village on the Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana. There he finds that his Great Uncle Joe has barricaded himself in his cabin rather than move to higher ground. Martin stays with Uncle Joe awhile, performing healings. His girl friend, Renee, becomes angry, when he befriends and wants to heal beautiful Samantha Gajan. He gets into more serious trouble using his powers on an unwilling injured person. Meanwhile, an oil rig explodes in the Gulf, and the marshes on Isle de Jean Charles are not only endangered by flooding, but by a disastrous oil spill as well. Martin, Renee, and Samantha brave a heavy, threatening storm and take part in the restoration of a coastal village that has already weathered too many disasters. Martin and the Last Tribe is also available in eBook format from Amazon for $2.99. Published 2013.
