Illuminate

John Gibson is a physician who spent over 30 years on the faculty of an academic medical center. Not until his retirement from medicine has he been able to spend time writing for non-academic publication. Into the Silence is his first novel. In addition to his talent for writing, John is an accomplished artist. John illustrated the cover of Into the Silence and has illustrated this Christmas book entitled Illuminate with his pen and ink artwork and his daughter Margaret Simon has written the accompanying poems.

Margaret G. Simon is a Mississippi native who married into Louisiana life. She lives on the Bayou Teche in New Iberia, Louisiana, with her husband, Jeff and raised three daughters. Margaret has been an elementary school teacher for thirty-one years, most recently teaching gifted students, and has published in the The Aurorean, Today’s Little Ditty, Poetry Friday Power Book Here We Go, and in National Geographic’s, the Poetry of US. Border Press published her collection of poems with her father’s Christmas card art, Illuminate, and a novel for young readers entitled Blessen. She has a Masters degree in Gifted Education and certification by the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards.
