Barbara Hughes is an artist, teacher, and workshop leader whose work connects art, spirituality and healing. She has exhibited her figurative sculptures and paintings in a variety of venues throughout the country, and her Cathedral Nativity is the official crèche of the Washington National Cathedral. Ms Hughes taught art and spirituality in a seminary setting for many years and has taught in other places including Tanzania. She leads workshops, retreats and support groups using art for women survivors of child sexual abuse in Churches and other healing centers. She uses art in spiritual direction. Ms Hughes has had a touring shows of the artwork, and has led workshops for therapists and survivors of abuse. She has a passion for eliminating childhood sexual abuse and believes deeply that art is a powerful force for healing in the World.
